MIT License

The MIT Licenses are free software licenses used by the MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology).

The Open Source Initiative refers to one of the popular versions as “The MIT License”^[1], while the Free Software Foundation calls that name confusing and refers to the license as the “Expat license”.^[2]

The other license the FSF says is referred to as a “MIT License” is the so-called X11 license.^[3]
