Parallel Realities is a team consisting of Stephen Sweeney and Richard Sweeney. The duo produced numerous Free games and software, all licensed under the GPL.^[1]

In a discussion it was revealed that some of the media in their games were freeware. Up to that point, they were erroneously thought by others than the game developers to be covered by the GNU GPL, as in the source code.^{[reference required]}

The developers sent take down requests to the package maintainers, and the games were either removed, or cleaned from the non-free parts.^{[reference required]}
