Glest's media is closed, isn't it? Or did they release it open, as they're not working on the game any more? --Qubodup 21:58, (CEST)
- Someone needs to cite or review the decision to ban Glest from Libregamewiki. The latest official build was released after the comment made by User:Qubodup 8 September 2007. Glest is an free to play, open source game - can anyone explain, in simple English, why the Glest community is being excluded? stop by http://glest.org/glest_board/index.php?PHPSESSID=a608ae0ef10a6e13abf5c3ecd4770b08&topic=4839.0 and chat us up!

- Yes, Glest is free! Why is Glest being excluded? --Archmage101 17:46, 29 November 2009 (UTC)
- I don't know what the cited link referred to, but the current data license seems to be the free CC BY-SA 3.0: rev.196 here.
- From looking at indirect sources, the license considered non-free by Debian (data package copyright) and Ubuntu, (a bug) is this one (rev. 188).

- Q. What kind of license does Glest have?
- A. Glest source code is GPL, as for the data you can do whatever you want with it as long as you credit us.
Hope this helps Trappin 01:16, 1 December 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Inclusion review
Looks like Glest is now code GPL v2+ and data CC-BY-SA 3.0. The GPL obviously is a free license. The FSF has evaluated CC-BY-SA 2.0 and says it is a copyleft free license. I'm no lawyer but I would think that also the 3.0 is a free license. So I think Glest should be included. Can we undelete the old article? GNUbie 08:34, 18 March 2011 (UTC)
